Meet Rosie
Hello! I'm Rosie Higuera and I'm seeking your vote and support. I'm happily married to my best friend, Patrick. We are the proud parents of three incredible children who have all grown into responsible, caring, and contributing young adults after going through the Oceanside Public School system. I'm also a grandmother to my little, "Peanut." For these reasons and many others, I am running for Trustee of the Oceanside Unified Schools, District 5.
I am a homeowner in beautiful Oceanside and have resided for over twenty-four years, I am highly invested in my community and have worked as a passionate advocate for children, families and parental rights. I have witnessed firsthand the consequences of poor leadership from the top down in Oceanside schools, resulting in extremely poor grades, school closures, fiscal mismanagement, lack of transparency and accountability, and unsafe school environments due to inadequate policies.
Professionally I have been an educator for over twenty-five years, dedicating myself to nurturing young minds and supporting teachers as both an educator, teacher trainer and administrator. I understand the significance of the trust between teachers and parents and want to ensure that every family in the community is heard. They should feel confident leaving their children at school, knowing their child won't be exposed to inappropriate materials and ideologies or hurt because of dangerous policies.
Let's refocus on teaching our kids, protecting their innocence and preparing them for a bright future in an increasingly competitive global market.
